About Moda Surfboards

SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA - July 22, 2018 - Despite the battle of summer Sunday crowds and traffic, I went for a surf just now and it felt great. I’ve thought about it deeply for years, and I‘m still unable to articulate why surfing feels so good. Part of the challenge is that surfing is different things to different people. To some, surfing is a sport, while to others it’s a tradition, a weekend hobby or a way to enjoy the outdoors. What makes surfing so meaningful to me is that it’s about being active, environmentally involved, and creative. That combination, for whatever reason, has kept me continuously excited to go surf for the last 20 years.

There are plenty of things in our world that don’t make people feel good, so why not put energy into perpetuating something that does? That’s why I started Moda. If we can do things that make surfing simpler and more fun for more people, then everyone wins. Moda Core is where we’re starting.
